What great slide guitar playing! The Gram Parsons documentary Fallen Angel is good.
It looks like he’s also using the signature Keith Richards heroin.
You weren’t missing out on anything….just delaying joy a bit x
Beautiful times….beautiful people.
Before the rise and rise of the TV set.
It really is an evil in society ain’t it?
anybody else notice gram’s usin the signature keith richards tele
Mint story Rikk.
I only just got into the Brothers last year, didn’t know what I was missing out on.
Freaks.
best song from true blood yay!
Specifically because she got hit by a car, and Chris felt bad (just to add on to the chain of comments).
Yeah, I checked him out after I heard of his death. Never realised the extent of his gifts.Another unsung hero huh?
It was originally released as “Christine’s Tune”, but they renamed it “Devil in Disguise” a couple of years later, after Christine Frka (the GTO about whom it was written)died. I know this thanks to Bob Dylan’s Theme Time Radio Hour, by the way.
Alzheimers … he was 72, 6 or 8 years older than the rest of the guys in the band. He led a pretty interesting life, from what I’ve read. Had a full-time job as an animator in the movie industry and did stuff for Star Wars and Terminator flicks. Very creative.
no its christine’s tune.
i know.
Sneaky died? I never knew that. Great shame. The first time I ever heard his pedal steel I was hypnotised..like many others I guess. I saw the Burritos here in England..the acoustics were playing havoc feedback-wise with the violin so Pete sort of doubled up…awesome
Very good! but this song is “Devil in Disguise”
WOW thank you
Pete died … in ’07, I believe.
Just saw the recently released DVD entitled “Festival Express” from 1970 when a bunch of hipster musicians and bluesmen travelled Canada on a train doing shows. Great film and extra songs in features. The Brothers did “Lazy Day” in the film portion but there was not enough of Sneaky Pete’s slide work on the film. Whatever happened to Pete?! Joe in DC but Who Remembers Back Then…..
yea man i got a copy, he’s a talented guy thats not my point its about giving credit to others where its due. btw got a copy of the avalon disc where they warmed up for the GD who put out some fine country rock also jerry garcia being tremendously influenced roots music……
I was blown away too!
What the hell are you talking about? Have you HEARD GP/Return of the Grievous Angel?
gram started all? the man got alot more credit cuz he was a pretty boy, hung out with keith richards and died an early death. sweetheart of the rodeo? two of the best songs on that album where penned by bobby dylan. chris hillman gets completely overlooked and so does dillard and clark and the band……..
Very tasty! Many thanks Dan!
you mean hippie country dude. nothin’ like that Parsons/Hillman harmony.
shit howdy.
This is the song that turned me on to country music.
