I went to the BJ live in downtown NYC in 1995, and it was soooo cool and excited! I need to say Louis is such a genius bass player!!
Anyway thanks for posting the clip!
I love this jam so much…I was a little girl when this came out but how I enjoyed listening to this jam and still do. Thank you for posting.
What is this we see,ya”ll?
Hot damn,it’s a real band with real musical skills, great voices, and pure talent.
This right here is what’s up,all day, every day!
STOMP!
I stomp all nite for Obama,When he placed his hand on that bible,an im still stomping!!!!!
shmucks, i love this song.
Is it me, or do the pre-Ernie Ball Musicmans sound far superior?? Awesome tone.
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this was the best era!
Great song and great bassline !
you got that right- best baseline i ever heard in a song. 2nd place woulg go to the theme from swat by rhythym heritage. this song was a sweet groove
Girlfriend, I right with you! I thought I never live to see the day where talent and good tunes are looked over and even put down and shit is praised!
Boy they will never ever be times like those again!!! The youth of today dont understand a band! Unless you from D.C.
ohh yes!! what a classic!!!
YES funken tune!!!
THIS WAS THE JAM! smooth cut with with bad ass baseline
This was the song that started it all for me. This was the first real song that I fell inlove with, then my love affair with music started.
0:35 … Strong female vocals on the change towards the chorus
Much of the cool rb/disco always featured strong sexy female vocals in the chorus in the background
Also, well said ladyregina good music doesn’t talk about b’s and ho’s. Also, donniedeporte great observation, today there’s no serious rhythms, melody or chorus that moves you or to sing with. Its all about trying to make a quick buck being a media slut today instead of being a crowd pleaser like this music.
i numeri uno..
great song!!! These guys were as good as Chic!! (I never understood what “Strawberry Letter 23 meant… I’m just… just not cool…. sob, sob…. I’ll be ok, just give me a moment…)
I have always loved this song so thanks for posting. It came in at the tail end of the disco era and was better than any disco song out there. YMCA is a fun song but I would much rather hear this at a sporting event or any other big crowd event. First time I’ve seen this video – damn they beat up that bass guitar!
Good song, crazy beat had me dancing ’round my living room. I miss this stuff! No mention of guns, gangs, drugs, mother fuckers, bitches and ho’s. Real music, real horns, real percussion, read guitars and bass, no “sampling” here!
Yeah, back in the day, God I miss it. This is SUCH an incredibley upbeat and happy song. Awesome, quality R&B and Funk. Gotta love the Spinners and Earth, Wind and Fire too! Damn, what a great time to grow up. Those were the days!
such a blastastic feelgood song
3:30 Yellow Brick Load Tony Orlando gitting in on the action. WOW! He knew where da good stuff was. Perhaps Tony was just trying to git on the payroll … everyone else seemed to be so he thought “Hey … why not me too.”
