Barry Finnerty has still the same guitar from the 70`s when He played with Billy Cobham and Don Grolnick.
He reminds me a bit on Lee Ritenour .
Michael, wherever you are, you’re still Da Schit!
ahahaha wtf is with the windsurfers?
sound kinda of like what I play at church—sort of
Mike Brecker plays thsoe repeated notes in his first soli, but he makes them sound them so sick. He knows how to ride the groove.
3:49, what the fuck? random… lol
BAD ASS video though
two brothers, two masters
hell yes!!!!
2:53 – 3:11 = TWO MONSTERS !! Michael Brecker we deeply miss you …
Dennis is an absolute badass!
incredible! all perfect!
I hear what you’re sayin, but man, this music is about NOT thinkin so much about what you play. The problem with the human mind is that it tries to put into logic what the heart feels, and not everything your heart and body does can be comprehended. This, jazz, is the music of the human soul and voice, and as long as you FEEL the music, everything else falls in place. Thinking too much will let you fail, and forget about the time and rhythm, when it should just come naturally, man.
blaaaaaaagh
Yeah and they’re having a lot of fun, really great looking ^^
CRAZY !!!!
lol at the camera guy with short shorts at 5:04
when you play music that intense you have to think about what your playing, ok, they probably rehearsed a few times before they toured but this music is also 2nd nature to these guy’s but they still have to get into the groove of the tune, and if the audience doesn’t like it, well they should fuck of and go home, they were drawn by word of mouth,by people having the recordings and wouldn’t have attended if they didn’t know about them,
don’t forget barry finnerty, had the chops to keep larry carlton in los angeles in mid 70’s
What an amazing LOOK these guys have here! Gotta dig the Breckers’ shirts that are straight out of Vice City. The keyboard guy has to be my favorite though: nothing beats a mullet+mustache combo.
eskimoposh- are you fucking mental? All these guys sound absolutely awesome together. Nobody gives a fuck whether you think Randy cocked up or not – bottom line is I doubt you could do any better.
All these guys are incredible. Micheal is very missed. All you armchair critics are totally FUCKED in the head.
I know what you mean. I’ve met and jammed with Randy and that’s just his personality- low key, quiet… doesn’t show too much enthusiasm. I mean he’s a great guy and I have loads of respect for him (not to mention his music) but he’s just being himself. Plus, playing a wind instrument really takes it out of you! It’s not nearly as easy to parade around the stage headbanging, for lack of better words, with a trumpet than it is with a guitar.
Call it the New York attitude! I’ve seen David sanborn, Will Lee, Mike Stern, Dennis Chambers cop the same vibe given the gig, but you got to give it up to the East Coast players because they lock it into the fuckin’ groove like no one else! wEST cOAST groove blows! Its all about Fusak now which suks! The only shit left is at the Baked Potato!
Good call man!
The Brecker Brothers are/were (R.I.P Michael) simply best at playing what they play, but how they act on stage sometimes annoys me, sometimes i get the feeling they only play for themselves and not for the audience!
