  1. Good point. Armor and sword after all gave Cortes and Pizarro upper hand against the Indians. I guess that with the development of the firearms, no one seriously considered reinvention of personal protection suits, such as breast plates for example. They threw their lot in superior firepower, and history proved them right.

  2. Why didn’t they use armor?Sure its useless against bullets but in close quarters it could provide protection to the soldiers.

  3. Too bad the documentary shows the Brits with the later Lee-Enfield when they should have the Martini-Henry. Still a great series
