No it does not. The video is about the bitter-ender phase of the second Anglo-Boer War of which the Boers were fighting against the British EMPIRE not actual English speaking Southern Africans. The only real connection that the English speakers have with the British Empire was that it was this empire which dumped their initial arrivals at the Cape in the 19th cent. BUT this does not automatically mean that they were all antagonists of the Boers as many could relate to them after a time as well.

About the language and the song.Although I don´t understand afrikaans, I perceive that it sounds as a beautuiful language to me(mothertong Spanish). I like how afrikaans sounds.
I think it´s a very clear language and the pronunciation would be easier than dutch or English(it sounds with clearer phonems than those)

ArronPro – to answer your question on what the Boers did to the British POW’s. They took their shoes, weapons and any food and sent them on their way. They had no POW camps as they had to move all the time. With one or two exceptions, the British were treated well by the Boers, who at most made fun of them. Winston Churchill was a British POW.

The British were the true Nazis considering how they invaded two Boer Republics & ended up killing close to 50 % of the total Boer child population in the concentration camps wherein it was documented that the British put ground up glass / hooks & razor blades into the Boers’ rations. To project onto the victimized humble Boers the atrocities of the Colonial powers is the height of ignorance & contempt & demonstrates a total lack of knowledge of the region.
Louis Botha was the only un-reconstructed Boer to ever run a South African government -the rest being of Cape Dutch origin & with Hans Strijdom / P W Botha & F W De Klerk being raised into the Afrikaner designation. The Boers tried to SECEDE FROM SOUTH AFRICA during the Maritz Rebellion in 1914 then again during the 1940s & then again from the late 1970s. Robert van Tonder of the Boerestaat Party left the National Party back in 1961 in order to pursue the goal of restoring the Boer Republics.
I would suggest that you actually learn about the Boer people before making such defamatory / uneducated statements about them. How the hell could they have “enslaved” the very state they were fighting against of which would later enslaved the very Boer people? This logical gymnastics is puzzling.
